Ready, Set, Learn!
Students in Mrs. Carraway's class were having a great time this week learning about bugs. Miss Ann was able to take a few pictures of the children reading the big book as well as making their own butterflies today. What a great activity!
Library trips have been a lot of fun for the children as well, and we hope to continue our weekly visits to the Terrell Public Library so that our students develop a lifelong love of books and reading.
Our playground is ALMOST finished! We have a new porch, new play area, and new pea gravel in place...the fence is being installed as we speak, so when it is complete, the only thing left is the painting of the porch and we will be able to play outside! Wheeeee!!!!! We have purchased new riding toys and a new basketball goal so that the children can get lots of exercise, build important fine and gross motor skills, and learn socialization skills such as taking turns and the importance of teamwork. I am so proud of the new playground and appreciate so much the hard work that the maintenance staff have put into building it for us.
In other news, Project HOPE's parenting program is about to begin our "Café HOPE" series again on September 27. Be sure to attend if you are a teen parent in our program! Come out to Project HOPE during your lunch period on September 27 for a guest speaker and free food. You can't beat that!
Everyone have a great weekend and I look forward to sharing more news with you soon!
